Dit jaar bekroonde de commissie voor de Crevecoeur prijs een bondig artikel dat toch op een zeer toegankelijke wijze voldoende aandacht schenkt aan de ecologie en de problematiek van een invasieve soort. De jury beloont hiermee een artikel dat aantoont dat er vaak meer te vertellen valt over de eerste waarneming van een nieuwe soort in België.
Het geselecteerde artikel uit het derde issue van de Bulletin belicht een invasieve mierensoort zowel op basis van observaties als literatuurmeldingen uit omliggende landen en bekijkt de effectiviteit van de bestrijding.

Cet article signale la présence d’une nouvelle espèce envahissante pour la Belgique. Outre l’observation de cette espèce, il apporte de manière concise et accessible des informations sur son écologie, sur la problématique des espèces invasives et sur la situation dans les pays environnants.

Het jaar 2013 was een zeer productief jaar voor de leden van de KBVE die in één van onze twee tijdschriften hebben gepubliceerd. Er verschenen 3 Bulletins (in totaal 277 pagina’s gepubliceerd) en 6 artikels in de Belgian Journal of Entomology, die sinds halfweg 2013 opnieuw werd gepubliceerd. Deze on-line publicaties waren goed voor 297 pagina’s. Met andere woorden de Commissie voor het toekennen van de Prijs Creveceoeur had een weelde aan mogelijkheden om een aantal artikels te selecteren en er daar eentje uit te halen die de prijs verdient. Er werden vier artikels weerhouden en daaruit is er eentje gekozen die de prijs krijgt:

L'année 2013 a été une année très productive en ce qui concerne les publications de nos membres et ce dans nos deux revues. Trois bulletins (277 pages publiées au total) et six articles dans le Belgian Journal of Entomology, réédité en ligne sous forme d’articles individuels depuis avril 2013 et qui totalisent 297 pages. En d'autres termes, la Commission pour l'attribution du Prix Crèveceoeur s’est trouvée face à une multitude d'options pour sélectionner les articles pouvant prétendre au prix. Quatre articles ont particulièrement retenus l’attention et parmi ceux-ci, c’est celui de :

Dit artikel is een zeer uitgebreid en schitterend geïllustreerde publicatie. Het is bovendien een publicatie met een duidelijke determinatie-sleutel, uitgebreide informatie over de verspreiding van de soorten en zin voor details. De inhoud is systematisch uitgewerkt, goed doorgrond en helder weergegeven.

Cet article est un ouvrage complet, très bien développé et richement illustré. C’est une très bonne révision, comprenant des clés, des illustrations photographiques, des données détaillées et des cartes de distribution. Plusieurs espèces nouvelles pour la science y sont décrites.
