The goal of this project is to enclose all mentioned species in the Belgian entomologic journals. True this index, it is possible to look up what has been published about a certain species. This is useful to check where the species has been found before or to look up the ecology or trapping technics mentioned.
The making of this an index is huge task and our index is far from complete. Our index includes the name used in the publication. Therefore, it is recommended to look up all possible synonyms. Further, the index is likely not free of errors. Therefore, it is good to look up the genus and species name separately to avoid writing errors in the index. In the future, we hope to also include articles as pdf so it is even more easy to look up data of a species.
To further enclose our journals, we are always looking for volunteers that want to screen a scanned issue and record all species in the index. Therefore, please contact Isabelle Sauvage (isauvage@naturalsciences.be).
